Thought of the day (see below)
Lions toast with water (or hands)
Not above you, not beneath you, but with you.
Fun fact: The Lions toast was written by the spouse of a Lynn, Massachusetts Lion in 1923.
Lord of Lions, teach us to care for others, not only for the needs of those in want, but for our fellow Lions as well. Guide us in paths so that we may reveal to all the caring heart of Lionism. Strengthen us that we may belss and humble us that we may serve. Amen
Lord, as we Lions gather here, we pause to offer up this prayer. Bless this food that we partake and every effort that we make to build the community in which we live and place in our hearts the passion for worthy causes. Bless all who serve and all that which we do to serve humanity. Be with us always and bless our hands, homes and those we serve. Amen
With our friends beside us and no person beneath us, with the bonds of Lionism between us, and our worries behind us, with our goals before us and no task beyond us, with a thirst for knowledge and a deam of a world free of darkness, we are thankful for our Lions friends and the meal we are about to share. Amen
In our communion together, may we open our minds to understnading; open our hearts to compassion and dedicate our hands to the service of humanity. May we share the blessings of service with those we love and may we be worthy of the nobility of our cause. Let us show gratitude for the ability to be a light in the world. By all that is loving and just. Amen
Thank you for the fellowship we have shared and for the renewal of our vision. Protect us now as we go our ways and grant us strength for the days and work ahead. Give us the means for meaningful service, and the words to comfort others. Amen
